The new appointee steps into the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of former leader Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' disappointing unveiling last autumn.

Recently, 2K president a key figure notified staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which emphasized that early feedback sessions had shown the necessity for a distinct vision.

The president expressed that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a refreshed vision, aiming to better meet player expectations.

The news follows a similar move taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the beloved franchise development group.

Through your commitment and flexibility, especially over the last year, you continue to prove that.

The player input from last fall’s Project ETHOS playtest was enlightening. It validated the promise of a roguelike shooter but made clear we still had improvements to make. It uncovered the need for a more distinct brand.

It has been motivating to see how far you’ve progressed. You embraced the input to consideration and revamped the title with a revitalized vision - one that’s ready to achieve its ambition to our audience.

The belief in Project ETHOS strengthens every day. To advance the outstanding progress you’ve made, It is a pleasure to announce Ben Brinkman as the incoming Director of 31st Union. After a period of discussions, Ben officially joins us on the specified date.

Ben’s guidance and experience in the PVP shooter space is vast, having devoted the last 15 years producing and overseeing some of the most popular titles in the industry, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, and more recently, the battle royale hit.
